In the movie Cast Away,Tom Hanks playsa man named Chuck Noland.Chuckis a businessman who is always so busythat he has little time for his friends.He is asuccessful manager in a company that sends mail all over theworld.One day Chuck is on a flight across the Pacific Oceanwhen suddenly his planecrashes.Chuck survives the crash and lands on a desertedisland.
On the island,Chuck has to learn tosurvive all alone.He has to learn how tocollect water,hunt for food,and make a fire.Perhaps themost difficult challenge is how to survive without friends --- avolleyball he calls Wilson.
Chucklearns a lot about himself when he is alone on the island.Herealises that he hasn't been a very good friend because he hasalways been thinking about himself.During his five years on theisland,Chuck learns how to be a good friend to Wilson.Even though Wilson is just a volleyball,hebecomes fond of him.He talks to him and treats him as a friend.Chuck learns that we needfriends to share happiness and sorrow,and that it is important tohave someone to care about.Healsolearnsthat he should have cared moreabouthis friends.Whenhemakes friendswith Wilson,he understandsthatfriendshipisabout feelings and that we must give as much aswe take.
Avolleyball is certainly an unusual friend.Most of our friends arehuman beings,but we also make friendswith animals and even things.For example,many of us havepets,and we all have favourite objects such as a lucky pen or adiary.The lesson we can learn from Chuck and all the others who haveunusual friends is that friends areteachers.Friendship helps us understand who we are,why we need eachother and what we can do for each other.

排球当然是不寻常的朋友，我们的朋友大多数是人，但与动物乃至物件交朋友也未尝不可。例如，我们很多人养宠物，大家都有幸运笔或日记簿这类心爱的物件。从查克等结交了不寻常朋友的人身上，我们可以得到一个启示，那就是，朋友即老师。通过交友，我们认识了自己，知道我们为什么彼此需要，能够为对方做些什么。
