爱华网BartholomeusSpranger（巴托罗美奥·斯普朗格1546-1611）是中世纪北欧风格主义的代表人物之一，先后曾为红衣主教、罗马教皇和两位神圣罗马帝国皇帝绘制作品，也是布拉班特公国的宫廷画师。Spranger擅长描绘神话题材中妖艳的裸体女性形象，以复杂的人体姿势和优美的曲线诱惑着画中的男子——其中的辉煌与情欲，正是当时奢华的宫廷生活的真实写照。
美国大都会博物馆为Bartholomeus Spranger举办首次绘画展(5天后闭展)，通过一批难得一见的作品回顾这位宫廷画家的艺术轨迹，同时展出对他产生重要影响的其他艺术家的作品。

Thefirst major exhibition devoted to Bartholomeus Spranger(1546–1611), a fascinating artist who served a cardinal, a pope,and two Holy Roman Emperors, this exhibition examines Spranger'sremarkable career through a selection of his rare paintings,drawings, and etchings, most of which are on loan frominternational museums and private collections. Spranger emerged asone of the most prominent artists at the court of Rudolf II inPrague and the most significant Northern Mannerist artist of hisgeneration.
