A few days before Spring Festival, we all go backhome and get ready for it. We clean our house and sweep away allthe bad luck. We always go shoppingand buy lots of food. On the evening before Spring Festival, wehave a big family dinner. Everyone eats jiaoji a kind of dumpling. It’s quite delicious.After the dinner, we watch a special programme on TV, and set offfireworks together. We dress up, and visit our friends andrelatives on Spring Festival. Children say “Happy New Year” toparents, and they can get a hongbao. It means “luckymoney”.

Everyone is happy andsays“Happy New Year”to each other. Children usually get a hongbao from theirgrandparents. It means lucky money.
